Oguzhan Arun, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in Konya, Turkiye. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and further advanced his academic foundation by earning a PhD in Biophysics. His academic work seamlessly integrates clinical anesthesiology, cardiovascular care, and anesthetic pharmacology to optimize perioperative patient safety and outcomes.

Dr. Arun leads a translational research program that bridges preclinical biophysics with perioperative medicine. Drawing upon his dual expertise, his research focuses on vascular reactivity and perioperative organ protection. His clinical and laboratory investigations have significantly contributed to understanding the in vitro vascular effects of anesthetic agents and the identification of acute kidney injury biomarkers, such as NGAL and Cystatin-C, during complex cardiovascular bypass surgeries. Additionally, he maintains a strong academic interest in pediatric anesthesia. His work in this area emphasizes pediatric neurosurgical care, advanced continuous monitoring, and targeted blood management strategies in young patients. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications encompassing these diverse fields.

In addition to his clinical research, Dr. Arun is deeply engaged in academic publishing, serving as an editorial board member and peer reviewer for several notable scientific journals. He frequently collaborates on international, multicenter studies and consensus statements, striving to improve standardized care in resource-limited and high-risk surgical settings. His clinical expertise also extends to precision hemodynamic management using advanced continuous monitoring platforms in complex procedures.

Dr. Arun holds active memberships and professional affiliations with key national and international societies, including the Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation (TARD), the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC), and the European Airway Management Society (EAMS). His clinical and academic interests encompass cardiovascular anesthesia, anesthetic pharmacology, pediatric anesthesia, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
