Professor Dr Mazlina Mazlan is Professor and immediate past-Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Universiti Malaya. She leads the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neuromodulation Services at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. A rehabilitation physician with fellowship training in acquired brain injury, she manages patients with brain injury and spinal cord injury across the continuum of care, including early review following neurocritical care.
Professor Mazlina founded and leads both the Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Non-invasive Brain Stimulation Special Interest Groups under the Malaysian Association of Rehabilitation Physicians, strengthening national training and clinical standards. She has been instrumental in expanding structured rehabilitation services in Malaysia and advancing formal training within the Master of Rehabilitation Medicine programme.
Professor Mazlina has published extensively and contributed to internationally recognised reference textbooks used by rehabilitation professionals worldwide. A committed educator and mentor, she has supervised over 50 postgraduate trainees. Beyond academia, she contributes to clinical policy development and regularly serves as an expert medical witness in court proceedings involving traumatic brain and spinal injury.
