Dr Karl Matthew Sy Su is a board-certified anesthesiologist in the Philippines with subspecialty training in neuroanesthesia, regional anesthesia, and pain medicine. At present, he is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology, and Anesthesiology of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He is affiliated with several Philippine Hospitals including the Philippine General Hospital as an active member of the Divisions of Neuroanesthesia and Regional Anesthesia, and the Adventist Medical Center Manila where he also serves as Department of Anesthesiology Chair. He is currently the Secretary of the Regional Anesthesia Society of the Philippines Inc and has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists Inc from 2020 through 2022. His research interests include anesthesiology and pharmacology, and their intersection with patient safety, gender studies, and medical education.
