Dr. Girija Prasad Rath is a distinguished Professor of Neuroanaesthesiology and Neurocritical Care, as well as the Academic Registrar at the AllIndia Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He completed an intensive three-year specialized training in Neuroanesthesia and Neurocritical Care at AIIMS and was among the first anesthesiologists in India to earn a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Neuroanesthesiology. Dr. Rath has made significant contributions to education, clinical practice, and research, with a particular focus on pediatric neuroanesthesia. He has authored over 250 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and edited two key books: Handbook of Trigeminal Neuralgia and Fundamentals of Pediatric Neuroanesthesia. Additionally, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care (JNACC). His leadership roles include serving as the Past Secretary & Treasurer of the Indian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care (ISNACC), an EXCO Member (India) of the Asian Society for Neuroanesthesiology and Critical Care (ASNACC), and the President of the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC). Dr. Rath has contributed as an invited speaker at major scientific conferences, including those organized by the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), ISNACC, ASNACC, Neuroanesthesia Symposium (Malaysia), EURONEURO, SNACC, World Stroke Congress (WSC), and World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA).
