Laila graduated from Nagoya University School of Medicine in March 2003 and completed training in Anaesthesia & Critical Care at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2011. In 2022, she had completed fellowship in Neuroanaesthesia & Neurocritical Care. Hospital USM is the neurosurgical referral centre for adult and paediatric population in the east coast of Malaysia treating various conditions such as traumatic brain injury, functional surgery such as awake craniotomy for tumour excision and deep brain stimulation, vascular surgery or intervention such AVM, clipping & coiling of aneurysm as well as neurocritical care for both haemorrhagic and ischaemic stroke patients.
She is also a member of Kelantan Stroke Initiave. Beginning from this year, her anaesthesiology team provides anaesthesia and neurocritical care support for for ischaemic stroke patients undergoing EC-IC bypass surgery.
