Dr. Jason Chui is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia, Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia and a clinician-investigator at Vancouver General Hospital. His research focuses on advancing perioperative patient safety through the clinical translation of novel technologies, including broadband near-infrared spectroscopy for real-time detection of brain ischemia, automated intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring to prevent neurological injury, and large-scale clinical trials in perioperative neuroscience.
In addition to his research program, Dr. Chui is an experienced clinician-educator who has served in multiple leadership roles, including Fellowship Director of the Neuroanesthesia Program and Residency Program Director. He has also held significant professional leadership positions, including Scientific Chair of the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society (CAS) Annual Scientific Meeting, and currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology.
